Evan's First Trip To The Fire Station

This Saturday I happened to drive by the Fire Station near our house and notice that they were having an open house. I was so excited to take Evan to see the trucks, although I didn't really think that he would like it. Boy, was I wrong, he loved it! We went a little later in the day and so there weren't many kids there to compete with for the cool stuff. We had a great time and got some extra special treatment as one of the volunteer firefighters there is in our ward. They even brought out Smokey the Bear just for us! I hope they do this every year, we will be there!

Evan is not so sure about Smokey the Bear...

Evan loved sitting in the driver's seat of the fire engine

He didn't like the ear phones though

John and Evan with the old ambulance

Evan, future EMT, ready for action with the stretcher

So many buttons! Hmm, I wonder what this does...

On the front of the fire engine

Checking out the stinky boots and jackets. I thought of trying to get him to stand in one of the big boots but then reconsidered

Checking out the shiny helmet

He didn't like to wear the helmet so much
