The Great Southern Tour with Gladys Knight

For several months now John has been on the committee preparing for the coming of the Saints United Voices Choir directed by Gladys Knight. Well the day has come and gone and it was wonderful. And John is finally able to relax. The "fireside" was held in our chapel but it was more like a mormon revival. There was clapping, a band complete with keyboard and electric guitar, and "amens!". If you've ever been to an LDS service you'd know that this is hardly the norm. But it was awesome to watch these tight-laced LDS people who were probably used to singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, break it down gospel-style. Gladys did say that she thought our hymns lacked a little "pep". Sister McDowell (as she is known at church, her husband reminded the audience several times that she is married to him) told her story of how she joined the church and gave her testimony interspersed with songs by the choir. The music was lively and awesome and the stories and testimonies were great as well. We took some friends with us who also enjoyed the evening. We were glad that we were able to go.

Our transformed chapel. We weren't allowed to take pictures at the performance so this is the best we got.

Wasn't it awesome! There were so many hearts touched that night. And, I can't thank you enough for the help you gave me with Brady that afternoon. I didn't realize I needed help until you came along. You're awesome!
