Today Steve Jobs, CEO of Mac/Apple, introduced the iphone 3G at 11:28 am Pacific time at the World Wide Developer's Conference in San Fran. John was so excited he just about peed his pants in the library at school. He was following the conference from a live blog that was being posted as things were announced at the conference. I was actually the one who saw that it was announced first, John said he'd thank me after he was finished celebrating. The new iphone is 3G, which means it runs on a faster connection (granted you live in the right cities). It also has a longer battery life (supposedly), and finally has real GPS. We read the updates together while chatting online, John at school and me at work. This day is almost as monumental as the day man landed on the moon for John. I am definitely not as excited as him, but its pretty cool this technology stuff. Who'da thought we'd be here some day? More news on the iphone: it is more affordable (initially...), comes in 8 GB and 16 GB, and the 16GB model comes in white. And (drum roll please...) the release date is July 11. Looks like it won't be here in time for John's birthday but we might end up camping out over night on the 10th!

I still laugh everytime I see an I phone because of John :).
I know you love the iphone foo. I like it too... a little. if you thought it was cheaper than the old one... well... let me tell ya'.
The old iphone was 400 and you were required to get a data plan for 20 bucks for 2 years. This time the phone is 200 and you are required to get a data plan for 30 bucks. So you pay 10 dolares more each month. Multiply that by 24 and you paid 240 bones more. 240 plus 200 equals 640... more than the the old iphone... by quite a bit. :(
I mean... i like the new gps and 3g... but cheaper it's not.
hugs and kisses,
nerd :)
