A Call For Boy Ideas
I know there are a few of you out there with little boys running or crawling around... and even if you don't have a little boy this is a petition for any fun or cute ideas that you have for me to do to get ready for my little guy. I'm still a little occupied with school so I need help thinking of things that I can plan for or do right now to be prepared and get excited. If you're looking for a chance to share ideas or give advice, this is it! Thanks, can't wait to hear what you come up with!

You can start on the ever obsessing list of names...And then re-order them...And then match them with different middle names...And then listen to them getting shot down by relatives...And then decide it's your kid so you can name him...And go back to the names...And finally find one that you love...Or a few that you will have to save for the next boy :)
I kind of like preparing a little spot in the house for the baby, washing up clothes people give me, doing the nesting thing. You can also read about birthing methods and take a birthing class (most important for the husband i think :) hehe). And take a few pictures of yourself. I never felt really excited about pictures when I was pregnant, but I like seeing them now.
Just so you know who I am: I went to high school with John. We have two boys. With my first I started keeeping a journal for him while I was pregnant and have continued writing entries about him to read when he gets older. I'll turn the journaling over to him gradually (he's 3 now) and eventually he'll do all the writing.
I also love to sew and made his crib quilt and bedding. That was fun b/c we were renting and I couldn't paint like most people do.
Too much advice in my head to get it out :). I will have to tell it to you on the phone or write you a long email :).

For us, we've spent most of our time trying to research things that we were sure we would need (such as a car seat or stroller, crib or pack and play, "essentials" like diapers, health/grooming items, etc.). Getting involved in your own baby shower can help, too.
I agree on the classes part, too. We've waited until the last minute, so we're taking a shortened prenatal seminar in one day, but you can sign up for 4-week classes so you have something to look forward to.
I'm excited! Our little boy is coming sometime in the next month (I'm a day shy of 38 weeks now). You guys will have fun prepping for your little one. Can't wait!
