John catching babies

For the past month John has been doing a clinical at a OB/GYN clinic in Hinesville, GA. It's been really great for him because they don't have any other students or many employees to help and so he gets to help in a lot procedures. He gets to do a lot of different things like 1st assisting in the OR and performing routine OB exams in the clinic, but the most exciting thing to do is deliver babies! To date John has helped deliver 11 babies, 5 c-sections and 6 vaginal, and he still has a week left in this rotation. The most exciting deliveries have been a couple when the doc let John do the delivery all by himself! Apparently there's nothing to it, what do you think girls? The only stressful part for John is when he "catches" the baby, they're so slippery! It's amazing to me that he's delivering babies everyday, I can't even imagine seeing childbirth! At least now I know if we get stuck on the side of the highway he can deliver our baby and if we make it to the hospital he won't pass out.
